Located between two structural columns on Consell de Cent Street, a dark metallic form marks the entrance to the Aesop store - discreet yet deliberate. It integrates naturally into its context, while creating a distinctive moment of transition between the street and a more intimate world within.
The interior space reveals a long, narrow form with a 5-meter ceiling height. Three steel-clad columns rise within it—not symmetrical, but fundamental in establishing a rhythm throughout the space. Their presence gives character and anchors the spatial composition.
On one side, a suspended steel counter guides the visitor through the store. Its surface softly reflects the light, adding a sense of quiet refinement. On the opposite side, a set of trays echoes the same language, creating balance through repetition.
The design invites movement that is open, fluid, and uninterrupted. Toward the back, the counter curves inward to form a semicircular space. Here, the geometry shifts - straight lines dissolve into curves, the ceiling lowers, and the material palette becomes softer and more tactile. It is a space for pause and closer client interaction. A tall curtain completes the sequence: subtle and sculptural, it wraps the space.
The design reduces the language of architecture to its essential elements: form, light, and material. Stucco walls, terrazzo floors, and blackened steel elements define the palette.
