School in Heurom
The school is inspired by the landscape and urban fabric of the village, composed of simple volumes with pitched roofs that dialogue with the surrounding rooftops. The design is organized into four repeatable seven-meter-wide modules, allowing future expansions or adaptations.
The complex revolves around the Agora, a central space that serves as an interior plaza and extension of the garden. A covered linear axis, illuminated by skylights, connects classrooms and educational spaces, encouraging interaction among children of different ages and providing high pedagogical flexibility.
Towards Carretera Vella, a more private zone houses the kitchen, storage, and services with independent access.
The garden acts as a third learning environment: a natural, green space with deciduous shading and organic materials, where play and exploration are integrated into daily learning.
Bioclimatic porches host outdoor activities adaptable to seasonal changes.
