Health Center in Barceloneta

The project transforms the existing CAP Barceloneta building, enhancing its original structure and incorporating flexible, modular spaces capable of adapting to present and future healthcare needs.

The key principles of the intervention are functional flexibility, clarity of circulation, and the creation of high-quality community spaces. The design introduces a central courtyard, perimeter corridors, and a double façade that together balance privacy, natural light, and visual connections with the surroundings.

Waiting areas are redefined as higher-quality, more attractive and versatile public spaces, supported by the new upper floor conceived as an outdoor area for waiting, play, and community activities.

The renovation preserves the historic character of the building while creating a healthy, adaptable and socially engaging environment for both patients and healthcare staff.
