Health Center in La Sagrera
In the context of a road junction within an area undergoing full urban development —with multiple intersections, movement, and speed— our proposal stands as a serene and compact volume that precisely completes this crossing in front of the new residential buildings.
This is a Primary Care Centre, a public and social building that becomes a civic reference point in the neighborhood and generates a welcoming and accessible public space.
With its presence, the centre brings calm and order amid the urban intensity, establishing a close dialogue with the surrounding community while providing an essential service.
The project extends the existing urban space, transforming it into an open and inviting place that naturally integrates with the building. The main idea is to open the centre to its surroundings and create a bright, multifunctional area where the waiting room becomes an active part of the public space.
The building is organized into three strips: two outer bands accommodating the consultation rooms, and a central strip forming a large, open waiting area. On the upper floors, a landscaped courtyard enhances comfort, bringing natural light and ventilation to the heart of the centre.
