Diagonal Besòs Student Residence
The Diagonal-Besòs Campus forms a compact urban ensemble at the meeting point of Diagonal Avenue and the Ronda Litoral. Within it, the student residence seeks to be the social heart of the campus: a welcoming home for students, visiting professors and researchers.
The large timber roof organizes the campus and embodies its spirit. As the only building with permanent habitation, the residence aims for a warm, luminous presence. Its covered entrance and views toward the garden reinforce this gesture of openness.
The building is arranged around a central courtyard, bringing light, calm and a sense of community, sheltered from the surrounding noise. Its volume responds to the site: a two-storey base, a gentle cantilever toward the Ronda Litoral, and a lower height near the timber roof, creating terraces and shared outdoor spaces.
The façade combines modularity with mobile aluminium screens, softening repetition and giving the residence a more domestic and lively character.
