Barcelona Hotel Renovation
Located in the heart of Barcelona, this iconic building undergoes an architectural rehabilitation process that seeks to fuse history, functionality, and contemporary aesthetics. Conceived to offer visitors an immersive experience into the essence of the city, the hotel is composed of two classically configured buildings, whose connection is resolved through a series of strategically integrated levels.
The intervention in the existing structure follows a subtractive approach, removing layers added over time to reveal the purity of its original geometry. This meticulous restoration process allows for the rediscovery of historic architectural elements, which engage in dialogue with the new design additions.
The spatial concept is based on the harmonization of natural materials and a neutral colour palette, enhancing natural light and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Inspired by local culture and Barcelona’s rich history, each room incorporates pieces of Catalan design - from lighting fixtures to furniture - carefully selected to reinforce the identity of the place. This dialogue between tradition and modernity turns the hotel into a benchmark of contextual architecture, where every detail pays tribute to the city and its artistic legacy.
